Job Title: Application Specialist (Histopathology)

Reports To: LBS AP R&D Manager

Direct Reports: Shown in Organisation Chart

Purpose/Objective:

Rampup staff to support LBS R&D project as planned.

Area of Responsibilities:

1. Participate in new product development (product definition, concept and prototype development, verification & validation, design transfer)

2. Provide critical input and participate in system design based on application, customer workflow, and user experience

3. Perform certain product verification and validation task as an internal end user

4. Assist in customer acceptance test and act as interface between development team and customers

5. Provide documentation for CE, UL or other standard along with design team

6. Work with cross-functional team to ensure product design meets the requirement for manufacturing, cost, service, and regulation.

7. Assist manager in team and capability build-up, especially around application/workflow knowledge

Person Specification

	Essential
Qualifications & Education:	• Over bachelor degree, Medical degree in histopathology, • Deep domain knowledge in histopathology practice including diagnosis
Skills & Knowledge:	• Handson experience and solid knowledge in histopathology principle, application, workflow, and typical hospital end user requirement • Technical knowledge in either hardware or software engineering; and experience in working with engineers on product development, sales, or service
Experience:	• Minimal 3 years working experience in histopathology lab (e.g. as lab technician or pathologist) • Global collaboration experience in matrix organization, ideally in medical device industry
Personal Skills / Attributes:	• Interested in product development and willing to work with engineers to development solutions for customers • Must be a team player
Other areas: eg. Language & office skill	• Good English communication ability (verbal and written)
