World-class and exciting engineering manager position awaits qualified candidate, as a valued member of the team at eBay that manage traffic data platform development team, you will make important contributions. As part of the traffic organization, this team is responsible for build the data platform to support whole traffic team inlcude each channels as well as applied scientist to optimize traffic performance. In short, the team will deal with Big data, complext distribute system and challenges all over the world.

• This team will build the eBay traffic data platform which will build on top of eBay Data warehouse and other data sources for traffic team.

• Interact with other traffic team to guarantee bring in valuable traffic to eBay.

• Develop developer’s tools to help with any of the data processing responsibilities.

• Work with engineers, managers, Product Managers, QE, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic schedules, and adhere to development goals and principles.

• Estimate engineering effort, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and help rollout system changes. Help define, and supervise the design and implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software applications.

• Identify process, technology challenges and deficiencies that need to be addressed and drive those changes to successful adoption.

• Mentor, grow and empower team members in design, coding techniques and time management

• Proactively identify and resolve resource conflicts and set priorities for parallel projects. Work closely with Product Manager on resource and project reprioritization and subsequent impacts. Communicate these impacts effectively.

• Identify project risks and be able to provide alternatives yielding reduced risk.

Job Requirements

· BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).

· 8+ years’ work experience in software development area with at least 5+ years’ experience in Java programming, 2+ years' management experience.

· Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.

· Knowledge on e-marketing, search engine optimization and internet sales

· Excellent problem solving skills.

· Experience of SEM,SEA, SEO is preferred;

· Solid DB skills, data mining expertise are preferred.

· Familiarity with search/recommendation/classification applications and domains preferred.

· Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus in a high velocity, high quality environment.

· Strong communication skills in Oral and Written English.

· Working Experience in Multi-national Company is a plus.
