Since UTZ Certified is expanding, we are looking to hire a:</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="4"> Field Representative for China (based in Pu-er – Yunnan)</font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="4"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial">UTZ Certified works together with major stakeholders from industry, government and civil society to achieve an optimal sustainable agricultural sector, with a strong focus on coffee and tea. This work includes the implementation of UTZ certification with UTZ colleagues, local, regional and international partners.</font></div><div><font face="Arial">With your excellent interpersonal skills and dynamic personality you will ensure that UTZ Certified programs are well implemented. Moreover you will lobby effectively with government, civil society and partners. Recognizing the interests of all stakeholders the right candidate will be a pragmatic, strategic and inspiring ambassador for the UTZ certified program. She or he will have the following responsibilities:</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Promote the UTZ Certified program and related good practices</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Maintaining a strong market linkage and support partners in the implementation of the UTZ Certified program</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Liaison with local producer organisations, traders and service providers</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Facilitate client visits, press trips, market events</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Provide supply information, ensure the flow of field information to home base</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Liaison with national governments, partner organizations and agricultural institutes</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Participate in national and regional platform(s) for sustainable agriculture</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Broaden the implementation capacity for UTZ certification in the field</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Provide support to clients</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Create and maintain of a network of service providers</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Create and distribute relevant tools</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Supporting the assurance system</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Monitor and improve the quality of implementation and certification</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Ensure workability of traceability in local context</font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Supporting and collaborate with Certification bodies</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Project development and implementation</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"> Contribute to international proposals</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• General strategic and operational planning and financial management</b></font></div><div><font face="Arial"><b>• Guidance on priority themes for the region: e.g. international good agricultural practices</b></font></div><div><br></div><div><font face="Arial">Candidate requirements:</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Experience in the coffee and/or tea supply chain is a must.</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Experience in designing, supervising and evaluating strategies in an international (development) context</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Experience in business support to producers and supply chain actors</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Experience in agricultural certification schemes</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Strong knowledge of sustainability and rural development processes</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Credible ambassador, communicator, networker with intercultural skills and able to work with different types of stakeholders (e.g. producers, governments, traders)</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Self-driven and strong initiator within a group</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Strong communication skills, oral and written</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Fluency in verbal and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Extensive work experience in relation to the function</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Master′s degree, preferably in relevant field such as agronomy, economic development, environmental science</font></div><div><font face="Arial">• Extensive working experience in the region UTZ Certified provides a dynamic and international working environment with an entrepreneurial and innovative approach. The position is based in China and involves regular travel. Starting date of the assignment is foreseen as soon as possible. Until UTZ Certified is registered in China, the representative will be offered a consultancy contract.
